Write a cover letter that connects your achievements to the role

Tell the AI the role, the company and your most relevant experience in plain words, choose a tone and length, and get a focused letter you can edit on the page. It can use your saved resume as context, flags generic phrases to replace, and drafts a follow-up email you can send later.

Included in every Access Pass, from ₹299. One-time payment, nothing auto-renews.

What you get

  • Chat-style brief – describe the role and your experience in your own words
  • Four tones and three lengths, from 150 to 450 words
  • Optional job description and saved-resume context for sharper evidence
  • Flags generic phrases such as 'results-driven' or 'fast-paced' to replace
  • A ready follow-up email, saved drafts and Word, PDF or text download
  • Up to 5 AI cover letters per day, reset at midnight IST

How it works

  1. Enter the target role and company
  2. Describe your relevant experience, achievements and why you want the role
  3. Optionally paste the job description, add the hiring manager's name and choose tone and length
  4. Generate the letter, then edit it on the page
  5. Check every claim, download or copy it, and keep the follow-up email for later

Cover letter format for India

A cover letter for an Indian employer follows a standard business-letter shape. Keep it to one page and make every paragraph earn its place.

  • Your name, phone number, email, city and LinkedIn link at the top
  • Date, then the hiring manager's name (if known), company and city
  • A subject line such as 'Application for Data Analyst – Job ID 12345'
  • Opening: the role you are applying for and one line on why you fit
  • One or two body paragraphs with specific evidence linked to the job's needs
  • Closing: a short request for a conversation, then 'Regards' and your name

Writing a cover letter as a fresher

Without work experience, your evidence comes from projects, internships, college competitions, certifications and responsibilities you took on. Pick the one or two that are closest to the job and explain what you did, the tools you used and what came out of it. A final-year project that analysed 50,000 rows of sales data in Python is more convincing than a line about being hardworking.

Add one sentence on why this company specifically – its product, customers or the kind of problems the team works on – so the letter could not be sent unchanged to anyone else.

When a cover letter is worth sending

Many portals make the cover letter optional, and plenty of recruiters skim or skip it. It is still worth writing when the application asks for one, when you email a hiring manager directly, when you are changing careers or returning after a break, or when a referral will forward your profile internally. In those cases it explains what your resume alone cannot.

If you are explaining a career gap or a switch, one honest sentence is enough – for example, that you took a year to care for a family member and used it to complete a certification. Then move straight to the evidence that you are ready for this role.

Make the letter sound like you

After generating, read the letter aloud. Replace anything you would not say in an interview, cut sentences that repeat your resume word for word, and check that every number and name is correct. The tool highlights generic phrases and confidence claims such as 'I believe that' so you can swap them for specific evidence.

Frequently asked questions

Do Indian companies still read cover letters?

Some do and some do not. Startups and smaller teams, hiring managers you email directly, and roles that ask for a cover letter are more likely to read one. Large companies hiring at volume often rely on the resume. Since you rarely know which applies, a short, specific letter for jobs you care about is a low-cost advantage.

How long should a cover letter be?

Usually 250 to 350 words, which fits comfortably on one page. Use the short option (150–220 words) for email bodies and quick applications, and the detailed option (350–450 words) only when you need to explain a career change or a gap. Recruiters prefer one strong example over a list of every skill you have.

Can I write a cover letter as a fresher with no experience?

Yes. Use projects, internships, certifications, college events and responsibilities as your evidence, and connect each one to a requirement in the job description. Turn on 'Use my saved resume as context' so the AI can pick up your projects and skills, then add a sentence on why you want to work for that company.

How many AI cover letters can I generate?

With an active Access Pass you can generate up to five AI cover letters per day, and the limit resets at midnight IST. Editing a generated letter, saving drafts and downloading in Word, PDF or text format do not count towards the limit, so you can keep refining a draft after generating it.

Should I paste the cover letter in the email body or attach it?

When you email a recruiter or hiring manager directly, put a short version in the email body and attach your resume, because many people never open a second attachment. When a portal has a cover letter upload field, attach the full letter as PDF or Word. Use the job title and job ID in the subject line either way.

Will the AI make up achievements in my cover letter?

The generator is set up to use only the facts you provide in the brief, the job description and, if you choose, your saved resume. AI can still overstate or generalise, so check every claim, name and number before sending. Remove anything you would not be comfortable explaining in an interview.
