Java Full Stack Developer Resume Example & Format

"Java full stack developer" is one of the most common job titles on Indian portals, especially at IT services companies, GCCs and enterprise product firms. Most listings pair Spring Boot on the backend with Angular or React on the frontend, plus a SQL database and some cloud or DevOps exposure. Because the title is so broad, the resume has to show clearly how deep you go on each side.

Recruiters usually check that you have shipped real features end to end: an API, the UI that uses it, the data model behind it and the tests around it. Hiring managers then look for frontend skills beyond templates, such as state management, reusable components, form handling and performance, alongside backend fundamentals like security, transactions and query tuning.

The sample below is for a developer with about four years of experience, mainly on Spring Boot and Angular, with some React work. Notice how each bullet makes the backend and frontend parts of a feature visible instead of listing the two stacks separately.

What makes this resume work

  • The headline names both the backend and frontend frameworks, matching how Indian full stack listings are written.
  • Bullets describe complete features, so the reader sees API design, data model, UI and tests working together.
  • A UX change is tied to a business result (fewer abandoned claims), which shows frontend work beyond pixel matching.
  • Security and testing appear as real tasks, not only as skill keywords, which hiring managers check for at four years.
  • Angular is the main frontend skill, with React shown through one specific project, so the resume works for both kinds of listing.
  • Leading a small team is mentioned with scope, a useful signal for senior engineer and lead roles.

Java Full Stack Developer resume mistakes to avoid

  • Listing Angular, React, Vue and jQuery together with no project behind most of them. Keep the frameworks you can be interviewed on.
  • Describing the backend and frontend as two unrelated lists of duties instead of complete features you shipped.
  • Ignoring frontend depth. State management, forms, performance and testing separate full stack developers from backend developers who edited templates.
  • Skipping database work. Schema design and query tuning are part of full stack roles and are often asked about in interviews.
  • Sending the same resume to Angular and React openings without reordering skills to match the job description.

Frequently asked questions

Should a Java full stack resume focus on Angular or React?

Lead with the one you have used most in real projects, then tailor per application. Many enterprise and services listings in India ask for Angular, while startups and product companies more often ask for React. If you know both, keep both in the skills section and move the matching one first, backed by at least one bullet that shows real work with it.

How do I show I am truly full stack and not only backend?

Write bullets that cover a feature from start to finish: the API you designed, the UI you built on it, the data model and the tests. Mention frontend-specific work such as reactive forms, state management with NgRx or Redux, component libraries and performance fixes. A reviewer should be able to point to frontend work you owned, not just screens you adjusted.

What projects should a Java full stack developer put on a resume?

Your main projects should come from work, described inside each job entry. If you add a personal project, choose one that is deployed, has authentication, a database and a clean UI, and link the live demo and code. One complete, working app is more convincing than several half-finished clones of popular websites.

Do I need DevOps or cloud skills for full stack roles?

Basic exposure helps. Many job descriptions mention Docker, CI/CD pipelines and a cloud such as AWS or Azure. You do not need to be a DevOps engineer, but you should be able to explain how your code is built, tested and deployed. List what you have actually used and mention it in a bullet, such as setting up a pipeline.

Should I mention my notice period on my full stack resume?

Keep it off the main resume in most cases, because Naukri and company portals collect it separately and recruiters confirm it on the first call. If you are serving notice or can join early, mention it in your application note or email. Avoid writing your current or expected CTC on the resume, since that belongs in the conversation with the recruiter.
